2. Our team reviews your information and follows up to discuss your child’s needs and next steps.
3. We match you with a therapist who is the right fit for your child and family.
4. Your therapist reaches out to schedule an initial assessment and ongoing session times that fit your family’s routine.
5. You receive a personalized therapy plan with tailored recommendations.
The process is fast — most families are matched within a few days.
Are services eligible for OAP funding?
Yes — Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), Social Work, and Psychotherapy services are eligible for OAP (Ontario Autism Program) funding.
Note: Physical Therapy (PT) is not covered under OAP, but may be covered by private health insurance (see next question below).
Do you accept private health insurance?
Yes. Many families use their extended health benefits to cover OT, SLP, PT, Social Work, and Psychotherapy services at Oaknine Healthcare. Coverage varies by plan, so we encourage families to check with their insurer regarding annual limits and requirements.
We provide detailed receipts that include everything needed for reimbursement.

Do your therapists have experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, developmental delays, or complex needs?
Absolutely. Our clinicians regularly work with children with diagnoses, such as:
– Autism
– ADHD
– Global developmental delay
– Cerebral Palsy
– Down Syndrome
– Sensory processing challenges
– Learning differences
– Motor delays
– Behavioral and emotional regulation needs
… and beyond!
We take a family-centred, evidence-based approach to therapy.
How do virtual therapy sessions work?
Virtual therapy is delivered through a secure, PHIPA-compliant platform.
Families can expect:
– A parent-friendly, interactive session
– Live coaching and hands-on strategies
– Visuals, activities, and digital tools
– A follow-up summary with actionable recommendations
Virtual care is effective for many goals, including things such as AAC, language development, emotional regulation, parent coaching, fine motor skills, sensory strategies, and beyond.
What ages do you work with?
We support children and teens from ages 2 to 18, including early learners, school-aged children, and adolescents.
How long is each therapy session?
Sessions are typically 45–60 minutes, depending on your child’s needs and therapeutic goals. Many families also find that longer sessions are helpful, and these can be requested if desired.
Do you provide letters, reports, or equipment recommendations?
Yes. We offer:
– Formal assessments
– Progress reports
– Treatment summaries
– Letters of recommendation (LORs) for OAP-funded equipment
– Collaboration with other professionals as needed (e.g., ABA, pediatricians, schools)
Do you offer consultations prior to moving forward?
Yes. We offer brief phone consultations to help ensure our services and therapist are a good fit for your child and family. This gives you an opportunity to ask questions, share your goals, and better understand next steps before committing to services. If needed, we can also explore matching you with another therapist on our team to find the best possible fit.
