Terms of Use
Last updated: October 2026
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of oakninehealthcare.com, including its pages, content, forms, and other features collectively referred to as the “Website.”
The Website is operated by Oaknine Healthcare. In these Terms, “Oaknine Healthcare,” “Oaknine,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the person or legal entity operating Oaknine Healthcare at the relevant time.
By accessing or using the Website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Website.
1. Purpose of the Website
The Website provides general information about Oaknine Healthcare, its clinicians, and its in-home, in-school, and virtual healthcare and support services. It may also allow you to:
• Request information or a consultation
• Submit an appointment or service inquiry
• Contact Oaknine Healthcare
• Apply for a position or independent-contractor opportunity
• Access educational resources and articles
The Website does not provide emergency services and is not a substitute for professional assessment, diagnosis, treatment, or advice tailored to a particular individual.
2. Website Terms Versus Client Service Terms
These Terms govern use of the Website only.
They do not replace any clinical consent form, client service agreement, fee schedule, cancellation policy, electronic communication consent, funding authorization, privacy consent, treatment plan, or other document relating to healthcare services.
Where a service-specific document conflicts with these Terms, the service-specific document will govern the provision of healthcare services. Oaknine Healthcare’s Privacy Policy governs how personal information and personal health information are collected, used, disclosed, retained, and protected.
3. No Clinical Advice Through the Website
Information published on the Website is provided for general informational and educational purposes. It is not intended to constitute individualized healthcare advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a recommendation that a particular service is suitable for you or another person.
Do not disregard professional advice or delay seeking care because of information you have read on the Website.
Healthcare decisions should be made in consultation with an appropriately qualified professional who understands the relevant person’s circumstances, needs, health history, and goals.
4. No Automatic Therapeutic Relationship
Visiting the Website, reading its content, submitting a form, sending an email, or requesting a consultation does not, by itself:
• Establish a clinician-client or therapeutic relationship
• Confirm that Oaknine Healthcare has accepted an individual as a client
• Confirm that a particular clinician is available
• Confirm an appointment
• Create an obligation for Oaknine Healthcare to provide services
A service relationship is established only after Oaknine Healthcare has confirmed that services will be provided and any required intake, consent, and service documents have been completed.
5. Emergencies and Urgent Concerns
The Website, its contact forms, and Oaknine Healthcare’s general email accounts are not monitored continuously and must not be used for emergencies or urgent clinical concerns.
If you or another person is experiencing an emergency, an immediate safety concern, or a risk of serious harm, call
911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Existing clients should follow any urgent-contact instructions provided by their treating professional. Oaknine Healthcare does not guarantee that messages submitted through the Website or by email will be reviewed within any particular period.
6. Service Availability and Suitability
Information on the Website does not guarantee that a particular service, clinician, location, scheduling arrangement, or method of delivery will be available.
Services are subject to factors that may include:
• The individual’s needs and circumstances
• The clinician’s professional scope and judgment
• Geographic coverage
• Clinician availability
• Scheduling capacity
• Whether in-home, in-school, or virtual service is clinically appropriate
• Completion of required consent and intake procedures
Oaknine Healthcare may determine that it is unable to provide a requested service or that another provider, service, or level of care would be more appropriate.
7. Appointments and Consultation Requests
Submitting an appointment request, consultation request, or contact form does not confirm an appointment.
An appointment is confirmed only when Oaknine Healthcare communicates that confirmation to you. You are responsible for providing accurate contact information and reviewing any confirmation, preparation instructions, fees, and cancellation terms sent to you.
Appointment changes, cancellations, missed appointments, fees, and refunds are governed by the applicable client service agreement or cancellation policy.
8. Fees, Insurance, Funding, and Reimbursement
Website information concerning fees, private insurance, the Ontario Autism Program, other funding programs, reimbursement, or the potential eligibility of services is general information only.
Coverage and eligibility depend on factors outside Oaknine Healthcare’s control, including:
• The terms of an individual insurance policy
• Annual limits and exclusions
• Referral or prescription requirements
• The credentials of the treating professional
• Funding-program rules
• The nature and purpose of the service
• Documentation and submission requirements
Oaknine Healthcare does not guarantee that an insurer, government program, employer, school, funding organization, or other third party will approve, fund, or reimburse any service.
Clients and families are responsible for confirming their own coverage and eligibility directly with the relevant insurer or funding organization. Unless Oaknine Healthcare agrees otherwise in writing, the client remains responsible for amounts charged for services.
9. Personal Information and Privacy
Oaknine Healthcare handles personal information and personal health information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable law.
When submitting information through the Website, you agree to provide information that is accurate and relevant to the purpose of the form.
If you submit information about another person, including a child or family member, you confirm that you are legally authorized to provide that information or have obtained any consent required to do so.
Do not submit more sensitive personal or health information through a general contact form than is reasonably necessary. Oaknine Healthcare may provide separate instructions or secure systems for detailed clinical information.
Information about cookies and analytics technologies is available through Oaknine Healthcare’s Privacy Policy and cookie-preference tools.
10. Electronic Communications
Electronic communications can be delayed, misdirected, intercepted, or accessed by unauthorized persons despite reasonable safeguards.
By communicating with Oaknine Healthcare electronically, you acknowledge the inherent risks associated with electronic communication. This acknowledgment does not reduce Oaknine Healthcare’s obligations to use reasonable safeguards or comply with applicable privacy and professional requirements.
A website inquiry does not authorize Oaknine Healthcare to send promotional electronic messages unless any consent required for those messages has been obtained separately.
11. Employment and Contractor Applications
The Website may allow individuals to apply for employment or independent-contractor opportunities.
By submitting an application, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorized to provide any supporting documents, credentials, or references included with the application.
Submitting an application does not guarantee an interview, offer, engagement, or response. Oaknine Healthcare may verify professional registration, qualifications, insurance, references, background information, and other application details where permitted by law.
Applicant information will be handled in accordance with Oaknine Healthcare’s Privacy Policy and applicable law.
12. Acceptable Use
You may use the Website only for lawful purposes.
You must not:
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Website, its systems, or its data
• Test or circumvent security measures without authorization
• Introduce viruses, malicious code, or harmful technology
• Interfere with the Website’s operation or another person’s use of it
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or authority
• Submit information about another person without appropriate authority
• Use the Website to harass, threaten, exploit, or harm another person
• Copy, scrape, reproduce, or commercially exploit Website content except as permitted by these Terms or applicable law
• Use Website content in a misleading manner or in a manner that suggests an unauthorized relationship with or endorsement by Oaknine Healthcare
Oaknine Healthcare may restrict or block access to the Website where it reasonably believes these Terms have been violated or the Website’s security or operation is at risk.
13. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, the Website and its content—including text, graphics, logos, photographs, page designs, downloadable materials, and other content—are owned by or licensed to Oaknine Healthcare and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may view and print Website content for your personal, non-commercial use.
You may not reproduce, publish, modify, distribute, sell, license, create derivative works from, or commercially use Website content without Oaknine Healthcare’s prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights to you.
14. Third-Party Websites and Services
The Website may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, platforms, scheduling systems, payment processors, social media services, funding resources, or other external services.
These links and integrations are provided for convenience. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Oaknine Healthcare does not control or endorse those third parties and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, accuracy, privacy practices, or terms.
Your use of a third-party service is governed by that third party’s own terms and policies.
15. Accuracy and Availability
Oaknine Healthcare makes reasonable efforts to keep Website information accurate and current. However, Website content may contain errors, omissions, or information that is no longer current.
Service descriptions, clinician availability, geographic coverage, fees, funding information, and other Website content may change without notice.
You should contact Oaknine Healthcare directly where current information is important to a healthcare, scheduling, funding, or payment decision.
Oaknine Healthcare does not guarantee that the Website will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or free from technical errors.
16. Website Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Website and its general content are provided on an “as available” basis.
Oaknine Healthcare is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising solely from:
• Accessing or being unable to access the Website
• Technical interruptions or Website errors
• Reliance on general Website information instead of obtaining individualized professional advice
• Content or services provided by an unrelated third-party website
Nothing in these Terms:
• Limits any right or remedy that cannot legally be limited or waived
• Reduces Oaknine Healthcare’s obligations under privacy law
• Limits the professional duties of a regulated healthcare professional
• Excludes liability arising from healthcare services where that liability cannot lawfully be excluded
• Overrides any protection available under applicable consumer-protection legislation
Clinical services remain governed by applicable law, professional standards, informed consent, and the relevant service-specific documents.
17. Changes to the Website or These Terms
Oaknine Healthcare may modify the Website or these Terms from time to time.
An updated version will be posted on the Website with a revised “Last updated” date. Changes apply from the date indicated in the updated Terms.
Your continued use of the Website after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of those updated Terms.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario.
Any dispute relating solely to the Website or these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
19. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary. The remaining provisions will continue to apply.
